Smooth Ride with Some Attacks. Written By Kiyomi Schulz on May 1, 2018 The second Coal City Crit finished with all the rubber side down. There was some smooth riding tonight. 30 was the magic number for laps. One neutral lap to start and then it was game time. Lap 11 the bell was rung for a prime which was taken by Kevin Park, followed by James Sage for second and Chris Cameron for third. Immediately after the prime, Sean Lunny and John Lam attacked to try and form a breakaway, but where pulled back in over the next lap. Lap 20 Kevin Park made and attack but was also pulled back in. There were a lot of strong riders out tonight and a couple who just happened to add the Crit into their 100km ride! Lazarus Difiore and Devon Norris, no big deal. Shout out to Janna who cleaned up and took the garbage out this weekend at Race the Ridge. She felt 3 wins was enough for one weekend so she gave the first away tonight with a wink and glide. You are amazing Janna, way to show up for female cyclists out there. Ian Hay took the win tonight for the Men with Menno Jongsma coming in a close second. You can see the full results here. Last but definitely not least is the appreciation to the volunteers tonight. Tamara Zavarise, Joanne Brear, Michael Jorgenson, Antonious Adema and Peter McCaffery. Patrick, thanks for doing what you do👌. Ride hard and ride often.
