As there were only eleven signed on it was decided to precede the regular criterium with a sprint series and heats were made up reflecting the range of ability and experience. The first heat saw Brodie Hay (Dr. Walker) winning from Wade Lucksay and son Evan, who showed he already has good bike -handling skills. Heat two saw Nick Kupiak (Broad Street Cycles) matched against newbie Angelina Landry (MIVA) and visitor John Stuart (W. Of Quebec Wheelers). Who was fresh from the Tour of Rimouski. MIVA 45KM CRITERIUM 150714 The race started with two neutralised laps, as is usual when there are youth riders. After the flag went down, the bunch stayed quite compact for the next ten laps, albeit at a very fast pace, with some abortive break attempts by JamesGrant (Luma), Dave Beggs (Cycle Therapy), Nick Kupiak (Broad St.Cycles), Sean De Pol (MIVA). MIVA 41.4KM CRITERIUM 150630 Only eleven starters on a hot, windy evening, with two of the starters showing for the first time this season and two more participating for the first time ever. The scheduled race was to have been a points criterium but we decided to make it a straight race with no sprints to give the newbies a chance to settle in. NVA SPRINTS PRESENTED BY MICHAEL GILL WEALTH MANAGEMENT 15 06 18 Due no doubt to Thursday’s forty kilometre time trial and to the big events on the weekend, the only regular to show at the Maxey Road sprints was Kim Sutherland. His presence gave him the twelve points for winning and so Kim consolidated his lead in the series over Patrick Burnham.
